The journey to getting electricity on-site has been a steady, coordinated effort. It started with Build Free, who dug a trench from the electricity pole to the site and installed a kiosk, laying the groundwork for the connection. Unfortunately, I didn’t make myself clear, and the kiosk was installed the opposite way to what I was expecting, but I am assured it can be rotated. A good lesson in ensuring specifications are clearly defined!
A month later, UK Power Networks (UKPN) arrived to upgrade the power line from the site to the farmhouse and replace the transformer. The site was busy, with more than ten different vehicles and teams working together to carry out the installation. Engineers and technicians spent a lot of time inspecting the overhead cables, ensuring everything was in place.
Now, the final step is just ahead—Octopus needs to install the meter. Once that’s done, the site will be ready to receive power.
